Tanzanite Support Organization Gala Dinner 2023
Introduction:
The purpose of this concept note is to outline the proposal for a gala dinner event organized by Tanzanite Support Organization (TSO). This event aims to raise funds for “Achieving Self-Reliance program that aims to support vulnerable youths such as (orphans, persons with disabilities and the homeless) and create awareness about our TSO’s mission. We are hosting a Gala Dinner Event to support our mission of “Transforming marginalized youth group lives through prioritizing economic empowerment, health, physical well-being and essential social amenities” The event will feature a night of elegance, entertainment, auction, philanthropy, food and drinks with the goal of raising TZS 250,000,000 to fund “Achieving Self-Reliance program”
Background and Context:
Tanzanite Support Organization (TSO) is Tanzanian Non-Governmental Organization that was established and registered as an NGO on 3/06/2021 in the Ministry of Community Development, Gender, Women, and Special Groups (MoCDGWS) in accordance with the Non-Governmental Organizations Act of 2002 as amended in 2019. TSO offices are located at House no 14, Mlandege Street, Mikocheni, Dar es Salaam. We initially assisted vulnerable youth with essentials like money, food, and clothing.
Recognizing the need for lasting impact, we researched key documents like The Tanzania Development Vision 2025, National Five-Year Development Plan FYDP III – 2021/22 – 2025/26, Sustainable
Development Goals (SDGs), The National Youth Development policy of 2007 and other, concluding that empowering these vulnerable youth to be self-sufficient is the best approach. This led to the creation of “Achieving Self-Reliance Program” to support vulnerable youth in Tanzania. For two years, TSO operated in Dar es Salaam’s Temeke, Kinondoni, and Ubungo municipalities. Our current strategic objective is to expand our services to Pwani and Morogoro regions by 2027.
In our years of operation, TSO achieved the following:
Year 2021
- Provided essential support, including meals and bedding, to 76 orphanage children and 33 orphanage youth in Kinondoni District, Dar es Salaam.
- Informed 200 followers about supporting marginalized youth via social media.
Year 2022
- Empowered 18 marginalized youth from orphanage homes in Kinondoni and Ubungo with life skills, including self-awareness, physical well-being, social/cultural standards, and economic empowerment through corporate skills training partnerships.
Year 2023
- Successfully placed 11 of the 18 marginalized youth in jobs offered by our corporate partners supported by diligent follow-up and mentoring.
- Enabled five young people with disabilities in Dar es Salaam to gain valuable employment skills and placed all 5 in jobs through TSO partnerships with Corporate Companies.
The gala dinner is vital because the funds raised will not only help TSO achieve its goal of enabling 500 marginalized youth to attain self-sufficiency in their economic, social, and physical well-being by 2
the end of 2027 but also foster synergy and partnerships, celebrate achievements, and create awareness of our mission.
Objectives and Goals of the Gala:
The objectives of the Gala Dinner Event are:
- Raise funds to support our cause.
- Increase awareness of Tanzanite Support Organization and its mission.
- Foster a sense of community and engagement among our supporters and invite new partnerships and collaboration
Gala Approach:
The event will be held at Johari Rotana Hotel, located in Dar es Salaam on 7th October 2023 at 1800 hrs and will include:
- A welcome reception and gourmet dinner
- Keynote speeches highlighting the impact of our work.
- Live entertainment, a charity auction and raffle prizes.
- Opportunities for networking and engagement.
Expected Outcomes and Impact:
- We expect to raise funds to support our cause
- Increased visibility for Tanzanite Support Organization
- Strengthened relationships with donors and supporters.
Target Audience or Beneficiaries:
Our target audience includes corporate companies, Local and International Non-profit Organization, Donors, Sponsors, community members, Government Leaders and Individuals.
Partnerships and Collaboration:
We are open to collaborating with local businesses, sponsors, and volunteers to make this event a success.
